Formed as a 501(c)(6) non-profit in 2024, the Public Goods Foundation serves as a neutral hub for public goods advocacy. Much of the global economy and society at large depends on public goods. As a single example, recent studies have shown that on average over 70% of all software consists of open source software. Public goods provide trillions in economic value per year.
We believe that deeper investments in public goods can lead to both significant economic growth, as well as more equitable access to knowledge and economic opportunity.
